Microcrystalline Cellulose (MCC) 102

Microcrystalline Cellulose (MCC) 102

NIGEMSC003011

Microcrystalline Cellulose (MCC) 102 is a purified, partially depolymerised cellulose excipient used in food and food supplement applications. Derived from plant alpha-cellulose sources via controlled acid hydrolysis, this raw material is processed to remove amorphous regions, isolating the crystalline components that establish its distinct structural and technical properties. It functions primarily as a functional bulking agent, stabilizer and texturizer within solid dosage and dry powder matrices.

Physically, this ingredient is supplied as a fine, white or almost white crystalline powder composed of porous particles. Functionally, the 102 grade provides defined particle size distribution, enhanced flowability, and exceptional compressibility, making it highly effective for direct compression, wet granulation, and dry granulation processes. Its plastic deformation capacity enables the formation of strong, robust tablets under pressure, while its fibrous capillary action simultaneously functions as a technical disintegrant to facilitate matrix breakdown.

🍃This material is supplied business-to-business as a raw material for use in manufacturing. It is not sold to consumers and is not intended for direct consumption. No health claims are made for this ingredient. Information is provided in good faith for technical and formulation purposes; the current Technical Data Sheet and Certificate of Analysis take precedence. Responsibility for confirming the regulatory status of this material, and for the compliance, labelling and claims of any finished product, rests with the manufacturer. Any errors or omissions? Please let us know.✨🍃
